Whispers of the wild

Our grounds are a sanctuary for a rich tapestry of wild creatures. Keep your eyes peeled for cormorants moving through the morning mist, deer picking their way soundlessly over the grass, and darting swallows in the evening sky. Listen closely, and you might hear the croak of bullfrogs or small splashes from the playful lake otters who visit on occasion.

´Awwww, so cute, right? Particularly when the wobbly little fawns come grazing through the morning mist. It’s all extremely charming. As a lover of gentle things, I enjoy looking at them. And…as someone trying to build a garden that keeps getting EATEN, I won’t be at all bummed if your child and/or dog gives them a friendly chase off the property. Just sayin’.

The beloved residents of our waterside pagoda

Beyond the wild, we've cultivated a special delight: our beloved ducks and their ducklings, residing in their very own pagoda at the water's edge (dubbed Duckingham Palace, naturally). Children are invited to visit these feathered friends, and during laying season, if Margot is around, they might even get to help collect fresh eggs. It’s an enchanting experience for all ages.
